Job Overview
Mississauga Secondary Academy is looking for an organized, detailed, and reliable bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will help maintain accurate financial records, process invoices and payments, and assist in preparing financial reports. Your work will contribute to the effective and transparent financial operations of the school.
Duties
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
- Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements
- Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax, and other bills
- Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers’ compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents
- Prepare tax returns and perform other personal bookkeeping services
- Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
Qualifications
- Completed Grade 12 Ontario Secondary Diploma.
- Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Additional Skills
- Proficient in English (second language is an asset)
- Ability to supervise and train other workers.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong teamwork orientation and client focus.
Technical Skills
- Computer Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
- Phone Systems: Knowledge of multi-line phone systems.
- Data Entry: Accurate typing and database management.
- Scheduling Software: Proficiency in calendar and scheduling tools.
- Basic Accounting: Familiarity with invoicing software.
- Email Management: Efficient handling of emails.
- Internet Research: Ability to find and evaluate information online.
- Office Equipment: Operation of printers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines.
- Basic Troubleshooting: Minor technical issue resolution.
Work Environment
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment by effectively prioritizing tasks, managing time, and maintaining strong organizational skills while ensuring clear communication, adaptability, and teamwork to meet deadlines and achieve goals.

Mississauga Secondary Academy (MSA) is a private high school that is located in the heart of Mississauga – Square One. MSA teachers are fully qualified and experienced to ensure our students succeed with a uniquely enhanced curriculum and care.

At Mississauga Secondary Academy we have full-time programs for international students from Grade 9 to Grade 12. International Students coming to us can expect support and guidance throughout their time with us.
Our mission is to educate and inspire our students through an enriched and comprehensive academic program. We strive to motivate our students with a progressive daily agenda, monthly educational field trips, volunteering opportunities as well as Sports training (Basketball).
