Job Purpose & Responsibilities
The City of Cold Lake is seeking a qualified individual to fill the casual position of Adaptive Transit Driver with the Community Services Department.
Reporting to the FCSS Manager, this position is responsible for assisting clients meeting specific criteria, who require transportation to/from business, medical/dental, and recreation appointments within the City of Cold Lake in an affordable manner. The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Operating the Adaptive Transit bus in a safe and efficient manner;
- Working within tight deadlines to ensure clients arrive to their scheduled destinations in a timely manner;
- Scheduling, picking up, and delivering clients to scheduled appointments;
- Collecting fees and statistical information;
- Ensuring general maintenance and cleanliness of the bus;
- Reporting all major maintenance and repairs to appropriate City department.
Qualifications & Competencies
- High School Diploma or Equivalent;
- Class 1, 2, or 4 Alberta Driver’s License with a Clean Driver’s Abstract is required;
- A minimum of two years; experience in customer service roles;
- A strong understanding of, and/or experience dealing with clients with special needs, demonstrating patience, and a keen interest in assisting others;
- Must know basic vehicle basic procedures;
- Standard First Aid, CPR Certification, and Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check are required.

The schedule for this position is primarily weekend and evening shifts. Hours of work will vary.
The wage for this position is $23.10/hr
