Position Overview
As the Social Media Administrator , you’ll report to the Director of Marketing to support the growth and day-to-day management of our channels—Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, YouTube, and more. You’ll report to the Director of Marketing to write posts based on existing tone and messaging strategy developed by the Director of Marketing and Storyteller, and grow engagement and followers while staying on-brand and rooted in our values. Aligning to brand tone and voice, attention to detail, and the drive to show up consistently and creatively across platforms.
The ideal candidate is curious and a self-starter. Whether it’s a powerful photo of a child climbing a log or a short clip from a hands-on workshop, you know how to make our work come alive online. If you love engaging with and building community, writing content, and supporting the way we tell meaningful stories rooted in nature—this role is made for you.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
- Collaborate with the Storyteller/Copywriter to create, and schedule engaging posts/reels/stories and more that highlight our projects, people, and purpose.
- Write captivating copy that reflects our brand’s voice and values.
- Share stories from playground builds, workshops, community events, and educational initiatives and more.
- Maintain a consistent tone and visual identity across all platforms.
- Assist with live or on-the-ground content capture at events, installs, or trade shows.
- Research and leverage new platform features to enhance engagement and stay current.
Sales Support
- Monitor inbound leads from social platforms and route them to the appropriate sales team member.
- Track lead sources and engagement to support campaign ROI reporting.
- Assist in maintaining a clean CRM by tagging social-sourced leads accurately.
- Coordinate with the sales team on timely follow-ups for high-interest prospects.
- Support lead nurturing efforts by sharing relevant content and updates via DMs or comments.
Community Engagement & Collaboration
- Actively engage with followers—respond to comments, messages, and tags in a friendly, consistent, and timely manner.
- Foster authentic connections with our audience through interactive posts and community-driven content.
- Amplify testimonials and client stories to strengthen the online presence of our brand and mission.
- Meet with internal teams (marketing, sales, education, design) to align content with broader initiatives.
Execution of Social Growth
- Report to the Director of Marketing to write and execute social media content.
- Stay informed on emerging trends, features, tools, and best practices to help improve content performance and reach while staying on brand.
- Run campaigns across a variety of channels to drive engagement and brand visibility.
- Support content for executive team profiles to enhance leadership visibility and thought leadership online.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Use tools like HubSpot, Google Analytics, and platform insights to monitor performance.
- Track key metrics like reach, engagement, and follower growth, and report results to the Director of Marketing.
- Provide recommendations to refine content types, formats, or posting schedules based on data insights to drive engagement and follower growth.
Other Duties
- Assist with social media coverage of events, such as project launches, workshops, and trade shows.
- This role requires occasional travel.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience managing social media accounts, content creation, and digital marketing, preferred.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to craft compelling and on-brand copy.
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative and engaging content across platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Strong understanding of social media management platforms like Hubspot, Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social.
- Familiarity with analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Hubspot metrics, etc.) and the ability to interpret performance data.
- Highly organized, with the ability to plan and schedule social media content in advance, managing multiple deadlines and platforms simultaneously.
- Social Media SEO knowledge is an asset.
- Nice to have: Experience working with or writing for nature-based education, environmental education, nonprofits, or play-based learning.
