The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement supplies services to the public and other ministries that support efforts to build the economy and make a better life for all Saskatchewan people. Services include real property management services including government buildings, accommodations, transportation, and information technology.
The Property Management Branch within the ministry is seeking one individual to join our service team as a Journeyperson Painter to perform facility maintenance duties at various buildings in the Prince Albert area.
The Opportunity
As a member of a service-oriented team, you will be responsible for providing customer comfort and service by ensuring a safe environment for our customers and clients. You will also be responsible for:
- Performing duties such as applying paint, wallpaper, and other coatings to various buildings;
- Repairing and restoring damaged walls;
- Painting and maintaining parking lines;
- Completing minor construction projects;
- Ensuring facilities and equipment are safe and meet operating standards; and
- Completing any additional responsibilities as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, our ideal candidate will:
- Be a Journeyperson Painter;
- Be flexible, responsible, and adaptable;
- Be well organized;
- Have general building repair and maintenance knowledge;
- Have knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools, principles and practices related to building trades; and
- Be able to work in physically demanding conditions and perform physical labour, lifting and climbing.
A valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s License is also required for this position. The successful candidate will also have the ability to work during daytime and evening hours, as well as weekends and holidays.
