RIA is always looking for dynamic, energetic, creative, team-oriented individuals who want to join our firm. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of family law experience, and a strong passion for this practise area.

WORK FROM ANYWHERE IN CANADA OR THE WORLD (telecommute and zoom-commute). License to practice law in Ontario is still required. We have a new team member who has decided to work full time from Israel to take care of some family members and another team member working from Italy. Other team members work from home, their cottage in Muskoka, from their boats, and some decide to come into the office, which is ok too.

Duties:

Negotiate on behalf of clients in legal proceedings

Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis

Draft legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and pleadings

Represent clients in court hearings and trials

Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients

Prepare and review legal opinions

Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases
Requirements:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) or LL.B. degree from an accredited law school

Admission to the state bar association

Proven experience in legal research, writing, and drafting

Strong negotiation skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice-to-have Skills:

Proficiency in Lexis-Nexis for legal research

Experience in negotiating settlements
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

As a firm dedicated exclusively to the practice of family law, Russell Alexander Collaborative Family Lawyers has extensive experience helping individuals going through separation or divorce. We regularly help our clients resolve issues surrounding parenting time and decision-making, child support, spousal support and division of property. While our goal is to resolve our clients’ matters without engaging in litigation, our lawyers are prepared to work collaboratively before the Family Court when an agreement cannot be reached.
