Account Director (Canada) Position Title:  Account Manager

Number of Vacancies:  2

Location:  On-site, Canada

Salary:

CAD 100,000 – 110,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)

Language Requirements:

  • English:  Fluent
  • Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese):  Fluent

Experience Required:

Minimum  5 years  of experience in a similar Account Manager role within the  telecommunications sector .

Our client is a global leader in the telecommunications industry, providing innovative solutions and services to support the development of digital infrastructure worldwide. With a strong presence across several countries, the client focuses on delivering high-quality products and services in the areas of optical networking, broadband, fiber cables, and cloud computing. As they expand their footprint in North America, they are looking to strengthen their team with experienced professionals to drive business growth and manage key client relationships.

Position Overview:

The client is looking to hire 1  Account Director  in Canada:

  • One Chinese native speaker based in Canada

The candidate will be responsible for leading the client’s expansion into the Canadian  telecommunications  and  fiber cable  market. They will drive business growth, manage key client relationships, and oversee successful project execution across Canada.

Canada is considered a new market for the client. The client has a few clients already in place but the main role of the candidate is to develop new clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales targets and manage payment collection in the  telecommunications  and  fiber cable  market in the US & Canada.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow the client’s presence and market share in Canada, particularly in  telecommunications  and  fiber cable  sectors.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and key stakeholders in Canada.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle in  telecommunications  and  fiber optics , from market analysis, client engagement, bidding, contract negotiation, project delivery, and payment collection.
  • Provide insights on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs within the  telecommunications  and  fiber cable  sectors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, engineering, and product) to ensure tailored solutions for clients.
  • Travel within Canada and internationally as needed to meet with clients and support business development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in  telecommunicationsfiber optics , engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the  telecommunications  or  fiber cable  industry, with international or Canadian market experience.
  • Proficiency in Chinese and English are required.
  • Strong experience in business development, account management, and project management within the  telecommunications  and  fiber optics  sectors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal teams.
  • Willingness to travel within Canada and internationally.

The company has an office in Toronto, Canada

Therefore the client is flexible as to where the candidate is currently based.

The candidates will be supported by the company’s sales and marketing team based in Mexico City:

The sales team is composed of 20 to 30 employees.

The marketing team is composed of 10 to 20 employees.

The candidates will sign the employment contract with the entity of the company in Mexico City.

The candidates will report directly to the company’s Mexico CEO.

Recruitment Process

All interviews will be conducted in English.

2 to 3 rounds of interviews, involving:

– HR Directors for the Americas region

– Mexico CEO

– Teams from the HQ (China)
