About the role

Summary:

The  Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for providing assistance through the management of warehouse responsibilities as well as assisting other areas as requested and required. This role functions as a hands-on supervisor for the warehouse team.

Time Utilization

: Position is based at the Brampton location with normal business hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm. Schedule needs to remain flexible to address urgent situations with our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Including the following, other duties may be assigned:

  • Responsible for all shipping and receiving activities at the Brampton location.
  • Enforcing safety protocols, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Ensure equipment is packaged, crated/supported, and always moved in a safe manner both internally and externally. Also, ensure receiving equipment is moved and stored safely, and/or uncrated for movement to Innovation Centre.
  • Facilitate and coordinate the scheduling of pickups by carriers and facilitate inventory management and control.
  • Accurately pick, pack, and ship spare parts orders from the Brampton office as required. Orders must be processed in an accurate and timely manner. Processing will involve utilization of various methods including SAP inventory management system.
  • Perform cycle counts on an ongoing basis. Assist in the inventory cycle counting of spare parts.
  • Process purchase order receipt of shipments (parts and others). Log in all incoming shipments, orders, returned goods, and associated documentation. Ensure continuous coverage on customer returns and vendor receipts.
  • Responsible for repair order entry ZRC20.
  • Process warranty order entry.
  • Process orders as quickly as possible to ensure timely delivery to the customer. Run VL06P and VL06G on a weekly basis for open orders ready for shipping.
  • Act as backup when required including (but not limited to) SAP support, Webshop assistance, part expansion, and liaison with MULTIVAC US office as required.
  • Perform daily dispatch of spare parts shipping orders and other shipments as required.
  • Responsible for management and restocking of returns and part shipments, restocking of shipping supplies, and inventory tags as needed.
  • Inspect spare parts received and mark with correct inventory item number for customer order reference. Process purchase order receipts for inventory items using SAP software. Note any shipment discrepancies and address with the proper parties.

Performance Measures:

  • Provide assistance to other departments within the organization when requested and required.
  • Ensure that equipment is tagged when received and noted in inventory for quick location.
  • Ensure that damage claims from customer due to shipping issues are less than 2%.
  • Inventory cycles to be counted routinely for accurate and up-to-date reporting.
  • Spare parts orders to be accurate (pick, pack, ship) and documentation completed, reviewed, and signed for both domestic and international shipments.
  • Consistently acts in a friendly and professional manner with customers and fellow associates. Answers calls and adheres to call center standards when required.
  • Shipments to customers are to be accurate with less than 1% of claims.
  • Parts to be managed and stocked in correct locations, tagged appropriately, and ensuring consistent supply.

Qualifications:

  • College – Two to four years degree program, or high school diploma with two or more years of industry related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five-years of experience in shipping/receiving environment.
  • Must be licensed in forklift operation and recertify as needed to provincial standards. 3-5 years of forklift experience is required.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential for communication with customers and other members of the organization.
  • Bilingual ability (English & French) is an asset.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsible for supervision of the warehouse team.

Physical Ability:

Troubleshooting duties may require the ability to work on equipment in the warehouse in order to recreate and investigate issues and work with tooling. Physical requirements may include (but are not limited to): bending, reaching, kneeling, lifting, and stretching. Position is required to lift up to 50lb on occasion.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Order processing systems; Internet software, ERP systems; Database software and Customer relationship management (CRM). SAP systems experience including inventory management system practice is strongly preferred. Computer savvy with ability to learn shipment software with preferred carriers.
