Together with our partners, approximately 1,900 GTAA employees are working to create a next-generation airport by innovating in all we do and striving for the most uplifting, safe and efficient experience for our passengers – all while championing the prosperity of our people, the community we call home, and our aviation partners. Join us on our journey together, as we put the joy back into travel and make Toronto Pearson the chosen place to fly and work.
What’s in it for you?
- An opportunity to grow, develop, and thrive within a dynamic, and fast-growing company alongside thoughtful and passionate individuals dedicated to their work and community
- Comprehensive benefits, including a flexible retirement program with employer matching, along with voluntary savings options (RRSP, TFSA, and Non-Registered Savings Plans)
- A flexible hybrid work environment, continuous internal and external learning opportunities, and a meaningful reward and recognition program
What can you expect from this position?
Toronto Pearson is transforming into one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world through both our LIFT capital program (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals) and the transformation and modernization of the corporation itself. As the Director, Business Architecture Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Toronto Pearson by leading the Business Architecture team, practice, and being the prime architect for the various business unit operating models – directing analysis, design, and implementation via the team of business architects and process analysts. Acting as the overall Architecture lead, you will lead a team of experienced architects and process analysts and collaborate with stakeholders, including senior leadership, operations, IT, and external partners. You will also be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement, the development strategic roadmaps, and driving transformation initiatives. You will ensure that changes to organization design, policy and processes are forward-thinking and contribute to the overall success of Toronto Pearson.
Who are we looking for?
You have strong strategic leadership and visioning abilities, capable of guiding senior leaders and defining overarching and localized strategies while understanding all their implications. You'll bring a consulting and analytical approach, demonstrating skills in framing issues, assessing options, and analyzing large datasets to drive insights. Your expertise in operating model definition will be evident through your analytical skills in reviewing business processes for improvement, a continuous improvement mindset, and a high-level understanding of IT systems. The role also demands strong project delivery and issue management capabilities, including business case development, influencing others, resolving complex issues, and meeting tight deadlines.
You should excel in stakeholder management, building trust and collaborating effectively with sponsors and key stakeholders, complemented by strong facilitation and negotiation skills. Exceptional content creation and communication are crucial, with excellent oral and written communication skills and executive presentation abilities. Beyond these core competencies, we value a high degree of initiative, creativity, personal drive, motivation, and accountability. While not strictly required, a strong understanding of airport operations, including passenger processing, baggage handling, airside activities, and knowledge of industry standards like IATA and ICAO, are considered significant asset.
This is the role for you, if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), TOGAF Business Architect
- 10 years of experience designing and implementing new target operating models in a large Corporate/Operations environment that encompass all aspects of org/people, policy, process, technology and analytics working together with senior leadership
- 2 years’ leadership experience of teams in direct or indirect reporting structures
- Airport industry experience (preferred)
- 4 years working in a Transformation Project setting
- 3 years leading complex projects
- 5+ years working for a major consulting firm (preferred)
- Ability to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance
The GTAA is committed to Employment Equity and maintaining a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.
