Warehouse and Office Manager
About the role
Position function: Reporting to the Warehouse and Office Manager - Western Canada, the individual will be responsible to perform all distribution operations related activities in accordance with Caldic Canada’s policies and procedures to ensure customer requirements are met and Caldic Canada safety, quality and environmental standards are maintained.
Scope: The Distribution Team Member’s responsibilities include the appropriate handling and storage of all items received, picked and shipped. The completion of all system transactions in Dynamics to ensure the accuracy of inventory records. The individual will adhere to all shipping and receiving policies and procedures so that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently through the use of appropriate systems, tools and equipment provided by Caldic. This position will also work closely with regional Customer Service, Replenishment, Sales, third party carriers and suppliers.
MAJOR TASKS AND DUTIES:
- Order picking, receiving, put-away or loading; posting out shipment and receipts.
- To be familiar with all shipping, receiving, and shipping office procedures; ensure safety, productivity and efficiency while adhering to operations procedures.
- Print daily pick tickets for current day and up to two days ahead to maximize departmental productivity and efficiency; organize orders based on orders being shipped by outside carriers and customer pick-ups.
- Responsible to monitor System daily for newly created orders to effectively plan for picking, staging and loading of orders.
- Use appropriate inventory policy – i.e. FEFO – First expiry first out.
- Process RMA’s for inventory returns; may be due to damage, incorrect product, leaks, or customer overstock returns.
- Communicate with Western replenishment / customer service to ensure product is available to meet requested delivery dates.
- Perform inventory counts and maintain shipping material stock (pallets, slip sheets, label stock.)
- Ensure the warehouse area is maintained in a clean and safe fashion representative of a food processing facility.
- Comply with Caldic’s policies on hygiene, safety, and quality.
- Support the health and safety policies and programs within the company by working in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, safe work practices and procedures established by Caldic.
- Responsible for following Food Safety and Quality requirements as per Prerequisite programs, HACCP plans, CCP monitoring, GMP and SQF code
- Attend any required training necessary for the job.
- All other deemed necessary tasks as required by the Warehouse and Office Manager
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of distribution experience
- Must be able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis
- Must have strong computer skills
- Food industry related experience considered an asset
- Leadership experience a strong asset
- Forklift and Reach truck license is required
- Knowledge of a warehouse management system and use of RF scanner is important
