Part time CLEANER (25-R676)
Bargaining Unit: UNIFOR-HOSPITAL
Status: Part Time (0.5 FTE)
Department: Housekeeping
Site: St. Joseph's Hospital
Other Sites: Balmoral, Crossroads, St. Joseph's Health Centre, Sr. Margaret Smith Centre
Shifts: Days/Evenings including weekends (Potential for nights)
Rate of Pay: $25.91 - $26.36 per hour
Qualifications:

Qualified candidate must possess knowledge of WHMIS & Health & Safety regulations

Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare facility a definite asset

Must be in good physical condition and able to meet the demands of the job

A physical test may be used during the interview process
-
Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Ability to operate all floor cleaning equipment including auto-scrubbers, carpet shampooers, burnishers, floor polishers, etc.

Knowledge of stripping and waxing floors
-
Heavy cleaning duties, requiring ability to move heavy furniture, filing cabinets, etc.
-
Able to work scheduled shifts and call-ins as needed
-
Ability to read and write English
-
Basic computer skills
-
Demonstrated regular attendance at work
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
- Offers of employment made to external candidates are conditional upon providing proof of COVID-19 vaccination as per the SJCG Immunization Policy IMS-04-005 or proof of valid medical exemption, prior to the offered effective date. If proof of vaccination or valid medical exemption is not provided, the offer of employment is rescinded.
