Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is crucial in supporting the overall financial health of our organization. The Bookkeeper will work closely with other departments to provide insights into financial performance and assist in budgeting processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Utilize accounting software such as YARDI to maintain accurate financial records.
- Perform payroll processing, including calculating employee hours, deductions, and issuing paychecks.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve any issues promptly.
- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts to support financial planning efforts.
- Maintain organized financial files and documentation for easy retrieval during audits or reviews.
- Collaborate with management to provide insights on financial performance and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks and Xero.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting principles.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members across departments.
- Knowledge of budgeting processes is a plus.
- A degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred but not required; relevant experience will be considered.
