About the Role

Your Opportunity! Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, Lankin Investments is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst. The individual will be responsible for processing the full cycle accounting duties for the companies’ corporate entities. In this role you will also provide backup support where needed to the accounting team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a junior accounting member to gain exposure to all aspects of the business and work with team members who are process improvement driven and excel in their specialties.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of corporate accounting responsibilities to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform monthly full-cycle accounting procedures for corporate entities.
  • Reconcile bank statements and conduct other balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Reconcile credit card transactions.
  • Prepare inter-company billings and reconciliations.
  • Complete accurate and timely HST returns.
  • Assist management in responding to audit requests.
  • Assist with financial statement roll-forward and preparation.
  • Handle payroll remittances in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support various administrative tasks, including calendar updates, meeting deadlines, and property updates.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant technical discipline.
  • CPA or in pursuit of a CPA designation.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of accounting experience required.
  • Experience in public accounting or the real estate/asset management industry is an asset.

Required Skills

  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to pick up new technology quickly.
  • Genuinely curious with a desire to understand key metrics and drivers.
  • High attention to detail, understanding of accounting principles, specifically IFRS.
  • Strong customer focus with excellent relationship building and a collaborative working style.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle competing deliverables with accurate/timely delivery under tight timelines.
  • Experience with Yardi or other real estate centric ERP is an asset.
