The Specialist, Strategy & Fundamentals, will provide expertise to aid in the development, coordination, and communication of the Enbridge Gas growth strategy & plan. Reporting to the Manager Strategy & Fundamentals, this role will generate insight into and aid in the synthesize of core market fundamentals, utility competitiveness, sector and customer energy trends, and intelligence to help craft long-term success for Gas Distribution & Storage (GDS).

What You Will Do:

  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis by collecting, cleaning, and validating datasets; identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights to support decision-making processes; develop data visualizations and dashboards; and collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret findings and recommend pivotal initiatives.
  • Synthesize sophisticated energy fundamental data into clear, actionable insight and strategic recommendations tailoring communication of findings to diverse audiences including senior leadership, executive and internal partners.
  • Deliver accurate, timely and business-relevant reports and dashboards to support leadership and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define, refine, and report on Key Performance Indicators (critical metrics) aligned with GDS strategic objectives.
  • Proactively monitor shifts in technology, customer/sector behaviour and energy trends, and regulatory developments.
  • Contribute to the conduct of strategic review, competitive analysis to evaluate competitors’ strengths and weakness and benchmark against GDS performance and positioning.
  • Support the preparation of executive leadership team and board-level quality materials with team, Manager and Director Business Development including of board, investor relations, and internal presentation materials.

Who You Are:

  • Related degree(s) and associated certification in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field, e.g., CPA, CFA, MBA
  • 6 or more years’ relevant experience in energy, energy consulting / finance or strategy roles
  • Outstanding written verbal and communications skills, including experience with Executive presentations
  • Develop high-impact presentations: distill sophisticated information into clear and visually compelling formats
  • Exceptional data analytic experience ability to gather and share meaningful insight from data
  • Strong ability to conceptually frame, develop insights and tackle problems
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (PowerBI, Teams Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Ability to work independently; high degree of self-motivation
  • Strong communication skills

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment a majority of the time
  • Stress levels can be above normal as the work is confidential, highly visible (often publicly disclosable), fast paced, in a dynamic environment characterized by ambiguity and CEO level priority status.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload by balancing multiple workstreams, and meet tight deadlines
  • Some travel may be required
