Responsibilities:
General Patient Care
- Perform and interpret 12-lead ECGs and cardiac stress tests (treadmill, nuclear, pharmacological).
- Monitor patient condition and review charts for safety.
- Room patients, collect vitals, and document assessments.
- Access Alberta Netcare for updated patient data.
- Educate patients on CAD and heart disease risk factors.
Physician Support
- Assist with exams and perform independent assessments.
- Ensure testing documentation is complete, and rooms are clean and stocked.
Code Team & Emergent Care
- Provide urgent care per physician or RN/ACP direction.
- Participate in code team duties, radio checks, and mock scenarios.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain crash cart inventory and order supplies.
- Support clinic flow and document patient interactions.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings.
Teamwork & Collaboration
- Work cooperatively across teams, support onboarding, and promote patient safety.
Ancillary Duties
- Create and revise training materials.
- Support strategic planning and internal advisory teams.
- Maintain clinic organization, confirm MPI reports, and manage stock.
- Participate in equipment checks and accreditation prep.
Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:
- Valid & unrestricted A-EMCA registration
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Current WHMIS Certification
- Accredited 12-lead interpretation & monitoring certificate with associated experience in 12-lead interpretation.
- Ability to confidently interpret and monitor 12-lead ECGs Blood glucose monitoring
- IV insertion
- Medication administration (within PCP scope)
- Strong understanding of appropriate clinical documentation.
- Proficiency in computer programs; specifically, experience with EMRs and treadmill equipment
