About the role
Our client is a well-established organization that provides operational support to critical infrastructure projects in Canada’s North. They are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk to support the processing of invoices and payments related to project expenses. Reporting to the AP/AR Supervisor, the successful candidate will have a solid understanding of accounts payable processes and a strong foundation in accounting, particularly debits and credits. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, process-driven environment, enjoys routine transactional work, and takes pride in accuracy and consistency. Main responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and managing incoming accounts payable e-mail
- Entering and verifying supplier invoices in the financial system
- Processing and remitting employee expense reports every week
- Preparing a complete cheque run for supplier payments
- Reconciling vendor statements and resolving invoice discrepancies
- Processing project-related invoices for payment
- Performing daily data entry into the accounts payable module
- Filing and maintaining payable documentation
- Regularly responding to vendor inquiries
- Performing other ad hoc duties as assigned

Qualifications
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting required
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in an accounting environment
- Good understanding of GAAP
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite
How You Will Be Rewarded:
- $50,000 – $60,000 salary range
- Good benefits package
- 3 weeks’ vacation
- Hybrid schedule – 2 days/week required in the office
- 10% pension plan
