Summary We are currently recruiting for a Valve Technician for our growing service business in Grande Prairie. The successful candidate will be based out of our Grande Prairie Automation Centre, and will report to the Manager, Valve Service. This opportunity is for a 1 year temporary contract. The successful candidate must be based out of or willing to relocate to Grande Prairie, Alberta, as the standard shift for this role is Monday through Friday (no fly-in, fly-out or rotations).
Role And Responsibilities
- Service, inspection, assembly, and testing of relief, control and isolation valves
- Interface with internal and external customers
- Field service work will be required in peak seasons in shop plant or in mobile on-site service unit
- Support our growing OEM business with onsite repairs
- Ability to work overtime when needed to meet customer requirements
- Participate in a 24/7 on call rotation
- Participate in the safety program
- Participate in Quality Program and ensure industry/company requirements are always met or exceeded
Qualifications And Skills
- Mechanically knowledgeable
- 960 logged hours of in-house relief valve training, as per ABSA, would be an asset
- Prior experience in servicing of industrial ball, gate, globe, plug valves would be an asset
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior valve and testing experience
- Driver’s License - Minimum Class 5 with clean abstract. Commercial Driver’s License considered an asset
- Prior experience operating a boiler, would be an asset
- Basic machining experience, would be an asset
- SAP experience considered an asset
- Solid keyboarding and computer skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving ability, strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Team player
- Entrepreneurial work ethic
- Physically able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
- This position has been deemed as Safety Sensitive - successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment Alcohol and Drug test, and as required for customer site access.
