POSITION TYPE: Part-time

DEPARTMENT: Facilities

REPORTS TO: Facilities Supervisor

AFFILIATION: Unionized Position

LOCATION: Tropicana’s Head Office, 1385 Huntingwood Drive, Scarborough, ON

HOURS: Minimum 20 hours per week, Mon-Fri, (will require some evenings and weekends)

SALARY: Hourly rate $23.47, per CBA schedule

START DATE: July 14, 2025

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Facilities Assistant to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized office environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing cleaning duties in office spaces, meeting rooms, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas, ensuring high cleanliness standards are maintained consistently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust office floors and surfaces

  • Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors

  • Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly

  • Clean glass surfaces, inner and outer windows, and doors as needed

  • Wipe down desks, tables, and office furniture

  • Restock paper towels, toilet paper, and soap dispensers

  • Clean kitchen areas, including countertops, sinks, water fountains and appliances

  • Monitor cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when stock is low

  • Monitor and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards

  • Follow all health and safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Previous cleaning experience preferred (office or commercial settings)

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness

  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 lbs if needed

  • Reliability and punctuality

  • Trustworthy with a strong work ethic

Working Hours:

Flexible hours Mon-Fri and will include some evenings and weekends.
