Job Summary:
Provides audiologic assessments and rehabilitation, including hearing aid evaluations, prescriptions and dispensing services, assistive technology assessments and recommendations, and counseling and education for clients and families, for both in-patient and out-patients in the Audiology Clinic, Hearing Aid Dispensary, the Outreach Program and community care initiatives. Reporting to the Operations Lead Clinic Manager of Hearing Services, you will contribute to the Hearing Services team effectiveness as well as contribute to clinical education of Audiology and SLP students, CDAs, medical residents, nurses and other rehabilitation professionals.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Administers audiometric tests and examinations to diagnose and evaluate the degree and type of patients' hearing impairment
-
Plans and implements habilitation/rehabilitation programs for patients, including selection, fitting and adjustment of hearing aid devices, teaching speech (lip) reading and providing counselling

Establishes personalized care plans working as a member of an interdisciplinary team
-
Performs cerumen management, and has experience with cerumen management methods

Conducts research related to hearing

Instructs students and other health care personnel
Qualifications include but are not limited to:
-
Masters degree in Audiology
-
Registration in good standing with CASLPO
-
Registration with ADP as authorizer and dispenser
-
Experience in Geriatric Audiology and audiologic rehabilitation desirable
-
Experience in clinical education and program planning is an asset
-
Demonstrated ability to contribute to team effectiveness and client and family centered care
-
Record of good attendance.
-
Demonstrated ability to meet professional clinical infection control protocols
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Meditech, Blueprint and virtual care technologies
-
Maintains knowledge currency in latest developments in hearing care technologies including virtual care delivery
-
Must have a valid driver’s license and access to vehicle to support in-home and off campus hearing service care provision
