About the role

We are looking for an electrical technician to join our team at Hershey in Granby on the evening shift! Join us in this exciting adventure!

Job Summary The electrical technician will be responsible for programming, maintaining, and monitoring electrical equipment faults to improve performance. They will also provide technical assistance to anyone involved in their duties. They perform analyses, designs, and installations of electrical and other equipment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Respond to service calls to identify and correct electrical problems on various plant equipment;
  • Read and diagnose problems based on plans and manuals;
  • Implement projects to improve current equipment;
  • Analyze, understand, and/or modify non-digital inter-programmable logic controller (PLC) communication
  • Identify and diagnose PLC, interface, communication, and other anomalies by proposing solutions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with the preventive maintenance program; Propose technical solutions to support production through instrumentation and process control solutions;
  • Other related tasks.

Quality

  • Follow the SQF policies that apply to their tasks;
  • Comply with GMP regulations;
  • Inspect equipment and the environment to eliminate all potential risks of food contamination;
  • Employees working in positions affecting CCPs are required to complete their tasks according to the designated procedure;
  • All employees are responsible for reporting food safety issues to authorized personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • DEC in instrumentation, control, and electrodynamics combined with five years of experience in the industrial sector;
  • Restricted certificate in equipment connection (RCA);
  • C license is an asset;
  • Proficiency in various programmable logic controller (PLC) languages, and ability to diagnose and modify programs; Allen Bradley is an asset;
  • Ability to use computer tools and instruments;
  • Leadership, organizational skills, resourcefulness, and teamwork skills;
  • Good physical condition;
  • Ability to pass a practical knowledge exam.
