Key Responsibilities
- Process semi-monthly payroll for over 100 domestic employees using a payroll processor platform, ensuring accurate calculations for salaries, bonuses, and deductions.
- Manage CRA remittances, T4s, and Records of Employment (ROEs) in compliance with Canadian payroll regulations.
- Process monthly payroll for over 100 foreign contractors using a freelance talent platform.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and integrate data with general ledger for financial reporting.
- Maintain employee payroll records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy laws.
- Collaborate with HR to update employee data (e.g., new hires, terminations, benefits).
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee inquiries promptly.
- Support audits by providing payroll documentation and ensuring segregation of duties.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Payroll Administration, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
- 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably for medium sized businesses in Canada.
- Proficiency with various payroll processing platforms and accounting software; experience with Quickbooks Online is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll regulations and CRA requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
