About the Role: We’re looking for a dependable and skilled Casual Handyman to support general upkeep and maintenance across our café locations. This is a flexible, casual role—perfect for someone looking for part-time or supplementary work with a variety of tasks.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform general maintenance and small repair jobs (e.g., door hinges, loose fixtures, leaky taps)
- Troubleshoot and address basic electrical issues (e.g., lights, power points)
- Handle minor plumbing work (e.g., clogged sinks, leaks)
- Patch, paint, and touch up interior finishes
- Assemble or repair café furniture and shelving
- Assist with setup or relocation of equipment and appliances
- Use company-provided floor scrubber for regular café floor maintenance
- Perform light preventative maintenance on café fridges and freezers
- Carry out safety checks and address any hazards as needed
- Respond to time-sensitive repair needs when available
- Work closely with café managers to prioritize tasks
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in general maintenance or handyman work
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Basic tool kit and reliable transport (most tools provided on-site)
- Flexible availability, including potential early mornings or after-hours
- Problem-solver with an eye for detail
- Friendly, respectful, and professional in a customer-facing setting
- Experience in hospitality or café settings is an asset
