Who We Are
The Det'on Cho Group of Companies is an investment company with 26 diverse companies, including 9 wholly owned subsidiaries and 17 joint venture partners serving our customers in the Northwest Territories and beyond. We promote a positive and supportive workplace focused on growth, teamwork and the care for our employees and are seeking a Weekend Security which may include covering shifts during the work week. Our Keskorie Boarding Home is cultural oriented with a friendly work environment that houses people from all over the Territory.
What you will do
Under the supervision and direction of the General Manager, the Weekend Security is a key team member of the Keskorie Boarding Home and will be instrumental in maintaining professional and safety services for our guests.
A Day in the Life
- Welcoming new clients / patients.
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities.
- Routine patrols in and around the building.
- Complete incident report when required.
- Communicating with Reception and the Manager on daily activities.
- Other duties assigned by the Manager.
What You Bring
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent experience.
- Ability to speak an Aboriginal language and knowledge of culture be an asset.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated and trustworthy.
- Standard First Aid with CPR, AED (willing to training)
- Ability to follow company processes, policies and procedures.
Whenever possible, our first preference for hiring shall be afforded to members of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation.
