Key Responsibilities:
- Provide counselling to client(s) using a range of appropriate methodologies, practices and techniques to meet client(s) needs.
- Liaise with families, community and other professionals to provide consultation and support services.
- Conduct psycho-social assessments of individuals and families.
- Formulate and develop client-centered service plans including crisis interventions, internal agency response and referrals, linkages and referrals to external resources, follow-ups, etc.
- Responsible for the investigation of child protection allegations to families and institutions and service to families that require ongoing services.
- Provide budgeting and money management supports to clients dealing with financial hardship and poverty-related challenges
- Deliver empowerment, advocacy, and problem solving supports to help clients navigate complex financial systems and provides referrals to the Financial Empowerment and Problem Solving program as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor of Social Work, Masters of Social Work or equivalent
- Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical or related experience required
- Registered member of OCSWSSW in good standing
- Knowledge and/or expertise in specific clinical therapeutic interventions, such as Motivational Interviewing, Brief Therapy, CBT, and/or group psychotherapy
- Strong clinical and assessment skills
- Clinical case-management and financial literacy knowledge experience
- Knowledge of Matrix and other data management systems is a strong asset
- Comprehension of French/Russian/Hebrew or another language will be considered a strong asset

Jewish Family and Children's Services exists to provide professional and volunteer services for the purposes of developing, restoring and maintaining the competency of families and individuals of all ages.
Traditionally, Jewish Family and Children's agencies carry a special responsibility within the Jewish community for reaching out to children, the aged, those with special needs, the alienated and the dependent, and for the resettlement and acculturation of refugees and immigrants.
As part of the network of Jewish community services, the Agency helps promote Jewish continuity through the provision of preventive, educational, therapeutic and supportive services, within the context of historic Jewish values, emphasizing inter-generational ties and community responsibility.
