About the job

Reporting to the Chief Treasury and Investment Officer, you will:

  • provide direction and oversight of staff in managing the nuclear investment funds while meeting long term targets
  • develop new investment policies and programs consistent with best practices in the industry
  • lead the implementation of approved asset allocation decisions and provide recommendations to improve fund diversification
  • manage a diverse team of external public and private market investment managers
  • oversee negotiations of new investments and manage mandates while minimizing the funds risk
  • provide recommendations to move asset allocations to minimize risk
  • manage investment costs while ensuring they are appropriate and remain below the benchmark

You are a seasoned people leader with proven abilities in:

  • strategic and team leadership while recommending appropriate policies
  • creating a positive culture of diversity, inclusion, accessibility, anti-racism, and equity in the workplace
  • demonstrating and building resiliency and flexibility while leading and motivating high-performing teams, and promoting employee wellbeing and engagement
  • championing transformational change and business innovation while taking measured and appropriate risks

Relationship Management and Political Acuity:

You are an effective communicator, negotiator, and consensus builder with proven abilities in:

  • fostering collaborative internal and external relationships to promote a seamless integration of various policies
  • demonstrating political acuity while delivering strategic and confidential advice to senior leaders, and when collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • providing strategic, confidential advice to senior leaders using political acuity when engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • building and managing relationships with external partners and stakeholders based on transparency, accountability, and trust
  • managing complex, politically sensitive issues within the context of multiple interests, with high public profile and scrutiny
  • communicating effectively at all levels, with skills to effectively provide strategic advice and influence others

Job Knowledge:

You are an experienced leader with proven abilities in:

  • portfolio management and asset allocation techniques and investment strategies across public and private markets
  • overseeing investment activities and implementing new strategies
  • evaluating legal structures and tax implications for portfolio management
  • risk management and judgement while ensuring investment activities meet provincial objectives
  • guiding teams to solve complex, cross-functional problems while staying focused on program objectives
