This position is flexible on location as long as easy access to a major airport is available, the ideal located is the greater GTA. As a National Accounts Business Development Manager, you will contribute to our long-term business growth strategy for Wurth Canada.
Reporting to the Director of National Accounts, you will be responsible for:
- Acquiring and Maintaining Cargo National Accounts: Acquire and maintain Cargo National accounts across the country by generating new leads, negotiating contracts and pricing, supporting our programs and systems, and ensuring quarterly updates with customers. The goal is to grow the sales portfolio.
- Developing Short- and Long-Term Strategies: Develop short- and long-term strategies with the Director of National Accounts to grow and develop the National Account Cargo customer base nationally.
- Partnering with Sales Managers: Partner with the Sales Managers to assess all Cargo national customer accounts in the region and align the pre-established national level programs to be cascaded to these regional customers.
- Setting, Securing, and Monitoring Sales Targets: Set, secure, and monitor sales targets with the Division Director while aggressively pursuing and acquiring new and lost business with National Account customers.
- Collecting and Analyzing Sales Data: Collect and analyze sales data, trends, etc., while utilizing data for strategic solutions.
- Evaluating Market Conditions: Continuously evaluate market conditions related to the division, competitor analysis, product timetables, pricing, sales & marketing strategies, and training programs.
- Liaising with Customers, Sales Force, and Internal Teams: Liaise with customers, sales force, and internal teams to ensure that the clients’ requirements are met.
What you will bring to the team:
- Post secondary degree or diploma in Business or related subject.
- 5+ years proven experience in a similar account manager capacity.
- Innovative mindset and thorough understanding of cargo market practices for acquiring and managing national accounts.
- The ability to travel (regularly overnight) with roughly 50% on the road visiting customers and 50% office administrative time. Travel would be a combination of local and national with out of province travel occurring roughly monthly (more frequent if located outside of the GTA).
- A high level of alignment with the company’s Corporate Values.
- Must have a demonstrated track record of business development, strong negotiation ability and the ability to foster Key Account relationships with customers.
- Detailed oriented with strong analytical ability to work with reports and sales performance metrics.
- Ability to remain objective in stressful and high-pressure situations.
- Have a creative and innovative approach to problem solving, utilizing our systems, programs, and developing partnership strategy.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills and demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization internally and externally.
- Self- motivated who has a passion for growing sales success and winning business.
- Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
