Salary Supplement**:** included in hourly salary range (in-scope)
Grade**:** SGEU.07.
The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement requires a Heating and Power Plant 3rd Class Steam Engineer at the Legislative Power House in Regina.
You will safely operate high pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment as part of a team and some cases individually. This position provides on call heating plant coverage. Dates, times and number of shifts can vary. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, performing maintenance and repairs on all heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment on site. You must be able to safely and efficiently operate boilers, air conditioning and all related equipment in the power plant and adjacent buildings as needed. This would include preventative maintenance as required. You will also be required to perform water tests from heating and cooling systems, analyze the results and dispense required chemicals, as well as maintain steam plant operations records and equipment logs and monitor the building environment to maintain client comfort and safety.
As the successful candidate, you must also be able to satisfy the physical requirements and demands of the job, including working with and lifting heavy equipment, tools and materials that weigh over 50 lbs.
The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in operating requirements and maintenance of a wide variety of building systems equipment such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and their components. You will have experience operating and maintaining high pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment, diagnosing problems, and repairing, troubleshooting or arranging for repair of equipment to restore operations.
To qualify for this position, you must possess a 3rd Class Steam Engineers Certificate and refrigeration certificate.
