The Revenue & Marketing Unit is responsible for CARE Canada’s externally facing initiatives. The team is fundamental to achieving our goal of inspiring Canadians to join us in this journey with a brave and bold voice and through innovative partnerships and sustainable, balanced revenue sources.

The Prospect Researcher plays a critical role in advancing CARE Canada’s philanthropic goals by providing strategic research, analysis, and insights to support the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of high-value donors and partners. This position will support the Philanthropy team’s work across Major Gifts, Corporate Partnerships, Planned Giving, and other revenue development strategies by identifying new opportunities, tracking trends, and maintaining high-quality donor intelligence.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in prospect research or related fundraising intelligence role
  • Demonstrated experience with donor research tools (e.g., iWave, CharityCAN, Wealth Engine)
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights
  • Excellent written communication skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Experience working with donor databases/CRMs (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or similar)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Relevant experience in prospect research, fundraising, donor relations, data analysis, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information from a variety of sources

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU EXTRAORDINARY

  • Experience supporting major gifts or campaign strategies
  • Familiarity with fundraising in the international development or social impact sectors
  • Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset
  • Training or certification in prospect research, fundraising analytics, nonprofit management, or related areas (e.g., through APRA, AHP, or similar organizations)
  • Familiarity with data management tools, CRMs, or research platforms (e.g., Salesforce, iWave, CharityCAN)

REQUIREMENTS

Promote and maintain an organizational culture that advances gender equality, reduces power abuse and inequalities, and fosters trust and safety.

Create an environment within CARE's workplaces, programming, and communities where CARE works that is free from sexual harassment, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation and child abuse (SHEA-CA).

Ensure high standards of prevention and response measures for SHEA-CA are in place consistent with the CARE International (CI) Safeguarding Policy and Safeguarding Code of Conduct.
