JOB PURPOSE
The Customer Business Development Group has an immediate need for a Category & Shopper Insight Associate. Reporting to the Category & Shopper Insight Manager, the successful candidate will support the Category Advisor Team in driving best practice category management initiatives. This position is located at the Ontario Head Office, Toronto, Ontario.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
- Responsible for developing and delivering weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual category reporting to the Unilever Category Advisor & Retailer Category Manager in order to understand trends and opportunities
- Providing analytics on ad-hoc requests, supporting Category Advisor in bringing forward insights both internally and externally
- Assisting Category Advisors with planogram reporting (vendor listing and distribution files, markdown analysis, etc)
- Assisting Category Advisors with analytics at store/cluster level to determine optimal assortment including adds/deletes and facing changes
- Assisting with planogram builds for both internal and external requests
- Providing analytics/category diagnostics and identifying trends/insights for internal launch support requests
- Leveraging loyalty and other insight providers to pull together shareable trend and performance analysis for both internal and external requests
- Monitoring performance of changes and conducting post evaluations
- Creating and managing UPC/product library to assist with quick analysis across multiple data sources
- Responsible for monthly coding of Nielsen Unspecifieds
- Identifying process efficiency gaps and developing solutions
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experiences & Qualifications
- University degree with an emphasis in business and/or marketing. He/she should exhibit
- Proven interpersonal, analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Experience with customer facing presentations is an asset
- Previous work experience within Category Insight, Trade Management, Account/Brand Management or Nielsen work experience would be beneficial Excellent command of the English language and good oral and written communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of computer application packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is required.
- Knowledge of market research including A.C.Nielsen, MarketTrack and Homescan is essential.
- Previous retail or manufacturer category management experience
- Shelf/Space Management software experience
- Valid Ontario driver’s license, which is in good standing
