This role is fully remote, though occasional site visits may be required for client meetings or relationship management.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a CPA who enjoys diving into complex engagements, mentoring staff, and playing a pivotal role in a purpose-driven, service-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage the end-to-end process for financial statement preparation (compilations)
  • Oversee personal, corporate, and trust return preparation across a broad client base
  • Take ownership of technical queries and act as the go-to resource for regulatory and compliance matters
  • Ensure compliance with current Canadian standards (CSRS 4200, CRA filing obligations)
  • Review and sign off on staff-prepared work; provide technical mentorship and feedback
  • Communicate directly with clients, including advising on filings, documentation, and deadlines
  • Respond to inquiries and correspondence from the CRA on behalf of clients
  • Assist in evolving internal compliance checklists and firm templates to improve accuracy and turnaround

Who You Are:

  • A CPA in good standing (mandatory)
  • 3–5+ years of experience in a Canadian public accounting firm
  • Advanced understanding of compilation engagements, small business tax, and CSRS standards
  • Comfortable managing engagements with minimal oversight and mentoring junior team members
  • Fluent in tools such as Caseware/Countable, Profile or TaxPrep, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft 365
  • A confident communicator who can simplify complex financial issues for clients
  • Adaptable and tech-savvy; enjoys working in a remote-first environment with occasional travel

Perks & Benefits:

  • Fully remote position with flexible hours
  • Occasional in-person client meetings (typically within the GTA or surrounding regions)
  • Bonus potential based on individual and firm performance
  • Paid vacation and statutory holidays
  • Full extended health and dental benefits package
  • Supportive culture with direct access to firm leadership
  • Opportunity to help shape internal processes and grow with the firm

Why This Role Stands Out:

  • Join a boutique firm during a period of steady, organic growth
  • Make a measurable impact on internal operations and client success
