💰 Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 + Performance Bonus
About the Role:
Our client, an established professional services firm with a strong regional client base, is searching for a Compliance Manager to oversee year-end reporting and tax compliance across a wide range of small to mid-sized business clients. This role is fully remote, though occasional site visits may be required for client meetings or relationship management.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a CPA who enjoys diving into complex engagements, mentoring staff, and playing a pivotal role in a purpose-driven, service-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage the end-to-end process for financial statement preparation (compilations)
- Oversee personal, corporate, and trust return preparation across a broad client base
- Take ownership of technical queries and act as the go-to resource for regulatory and compliance matters
- Ensure compliance with current Canadian standards (CSRS 4200, CRA filing obligations)
- Review and sign off on staff-prepared work; provide technical mentorship and feedback
- Communicate directly with clients, including advising on filings, documentation, and deadlines
- Respond to inquiries and correspondence from the CRA on behalf of clients
- Assist in evolving internal compliance checklists and firm templates to improve accuracy and turnaround
Who You Are:
- A CPA in good standing (mandatory)
- 3–5+ years of experience in a Canadian public accounting firm
- Advanced understanding of compilation engagements, small business tax, and CSRS standards
- Comfortable managing engagements with minimal oversight and mentoring junior team members
- Fluent in tools such as Caseware/Countable, Profile or TaxPrep, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft 365
- A confident communicator who can simplify complex financial issues for clients
- Adaptable and tech-savvy; enjoys working in a remote-first environment with occasional travel
