About the role
Purpose:
The Classroom Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support with various classroom technologies to facilitate the teaching of in person and hybrid classes.
Education:
Must be enrolled as a York student. Preference will be given to students enrolled in their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of study
Experience:
Previous work experience may be considered.
Skills:
- Ability to learn and use a variety of computer applications, systems and hardware2. Proficient in the following computer systems and hardware:
- Microsoft Windows 10. macOS Big Sur
- Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Microsoft Word and PowerPoint)
- Wired and wireless network connectivity (802.11 wireless networks and ethernet)
- Video conferencing systems (e.g. Zoom and MS Teams)
- Learning Management and Lecture Capture Systems
- Computer hardware and peripherals (e.g. cameras and microphones) 3. Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of technology and equipment.4. Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and analytical skills5. Ability to demonstrate organizational skills to carry out a variety of tasks.6. Ability to provide instruction and support others in developing knowledge or skills7. Ability to communicate clearly in a written form
