What you will do:

The Carpentry Workshop Operations Manager plays a key role in coordinating between design, planning, and production. They ensure smooth workshop operations by scheduling timelines, anticipating resource needs, and ensuring the availability of materials and equipment.

Leading a technical team, they oversee daily operations, support skill development, and maintain work quality. Their involvement in continuous improvement and process documentation contributes to overall production efficiency. By working closely with the design, construction, and leadership teams, they ensure projects progress smoothly, on time, on budget, and up to quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate production with design, construction, and management teams.
  • Anticipate workshop material and staffing needs.
  • Participate in interdepartmental coordination meetings.
  • Delegate operational tasks to the team lead while ensuring strategic oversight.
  • Manage purchases of materials, tools, and equipment for upcoming projects.
  • Optimize inventory and supply management (FIFO, recurring orders, etc.).
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure lead times and cost control.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance to prevent production interruptions.
  • Develop work schedules according to production load.
  • Handle administrative follow-up for the team (attendance, absences, vacations, performance evaluations, training).
  • Collaborate with HR on skill development and personnel management.
  • Document internal processes and procedures.
  • Recommend and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and performance tracking tools.

To be successful in this position you will need:

  • A diploma in cabinetry, carpentry, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in workshop management and custom fabrication.
  • Solid experience in production coordination or industrial logistics.
  • Excellent planning and prioritization skills.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and continuous improvement focus.
  • Indirect leadership and ability to engage through a team lead.
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to delegate and supervise remotely.
  • Bilingualism is essential for operations outside of Quebec.

Work schedule and status:

  • Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week (Full Time).
