Job Description
The Indigenous Mental Health & Substance Use Outreach Nurse (RN/RPN) will provide culturally safe and trauma-informed care to Indigenous clients experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. The role involves outreach, assessment, and intervention in various community settings.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach to Indigenous communities and individuals.
- Provide mental health and substance use assessments.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
- Facilitate access to services and resources.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.
Required Qualifications
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia (CRPNBC).
- Experience in mental health and substance use nursing.
- Knowledge of Indigenous health issues and cultural safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Indigenous populations.
- Additional certifications in mental health or substance use.
Other Relevant Details
- This position requires a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
