What you will do
Working within a busy Hospital environment, perform a variety of assigned Facility Maintenance tasks including scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled demand maintenance events. Apply knowledge, skills, and experience to work with the operations team and independently.
How you will do it
- Receive, update, and complete assigned preventative and demand maintenance works orders within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) “QFM”
- Respond to and rectify assigned tasks in general facility services, equipment repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry
- Source, plan, and organize required tools and materials for day-to-day tasks and projects
- Use building prints, schematics, and other available documents while troubleshooting system failures and work requests
- Working knowledge of building systems with an ability to operate a variety of hand tools and machines
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and complies with all company policies
- Other duties as required
What we look for
Required
- Completion of a two-year technical degree or equivalent plus 2 years of experience in a Facility Maintenance environment. Willing to consider other combinations of experience and qualifications
- Working and operating knowledge of building systems, troubleshooting, repair and replacement
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently on tasks and as part of a team
- Working and operating knowledge of computers as well as Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, word, excel)
- Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes the ability to: climb ladders, operate machinery, lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., etc.
- Must be able to work varying shifts (including night shifts), weekends, and holidays on a rotational shift schedule
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred
- Experience working in a healthcare setting is an asset
- Education in Building Environment Systems I and II is an asset
- Experience with Life Safety systems (fire panels, duress stations) is an asset
