About the role
Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented individual to support the strategic development of new business opportunities. As a business development representative, you’ll play a pivotal role in generating new qualified leads primarily through outbound prospecting activities, meaningful client engagement and building lasting client relationships. This role will report to the Vice President of Sales Operations & Vendor Management and would be an ideal fit for a motivated professional with a hunter mindset, a strong and persuasive communicator with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hunting: Generate new qualified leads turning into customers, primarily through cold outbound prospecting activities (e.g., calls, emails, social media outreach, etc.)
- Prospect for new customers through a high volume of touchpoints
- Research prospects, qualify and identify stakeholders to create rapport and discuss business fit.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads, convert them into opportunities
- Maintain CRM records and daily activities report
- Scheduled qualified meetings with BDM to move opportunities forward
- Following up with potential customers in driving the sales cycle
- Administrative duties which may include running reports and other general office duties.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in B2B lead generations, business development or inside sales; preferably in communication or technology hardware sales
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Hunter mindset with a proven B2B cold calling skills
- Strong and persuasive communicator who thrives on making connections and building relationships (both verbal and written)
- Resilient, results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Distribution or channel sales experience is an asset
- Highly coachable, organized, analytical with strong time management skills
- Proficient in English (oral and written); fluency in French is an asset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM
