What to expect in the role
REDI Enterprises Society is presently seeking part-time and fulltime Disability Service Worker’s (DSW’s) for the Brooks area. You will be supporting adults with developmental, physical, and complex psychiatric disabilities. With a passion for supporting people with disabilities, you will:
- Provide opportunities for choice, self advocacy, and participation in matters relating to the client’s home
- Help individuals identify employment goals, and create an action plan to guide employment preparation
- Facilitate socialization and community inclusion while promoting socially valued roles
- Assist in attending recreational activities, social events, appointments, ect.
- Completed required client documentation effectively

You take pride in being a team player who is compassionate and attentive with proven problem solving and critical thinking skills. You have the ability to listen actively, express yourself clearly, and adapt your communication style to the people you support. You are responsible, patient, and can keep calm under pressure. You have a person-centered approach and will take the time to get to know your client and act in their best interest, while maintaining professional boundaries.
Job Requirements:
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- First Aid – Level C/CPR certificate
- Class 5 Alberta Drivers License and access to a vehicle
- Basic computer literacy that meets the requirements of the specific role and agency/service
- Minimum 6 months’ relevant experience
- Clean criminal record and vulnerable sector or one that is acceptable to the Executive Director
- A positive attitude and belief that persons with disabilities have the right and responsibility to define and act on their life choices and seek active participation in the community
- An understanding of the opportunities and options available to persons with disabilities, mindful of cultural and ethnic sensitivity
- Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $18.75 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
