Position Description
Mercer Celgar, a leader in the global pulp industry, is offering an opportunity for a highly skilled and certified Interprovincial Red Seal Millwright to join our team in Castlegar, British Columbia. As a Millwright, you will be an essential part of our operation, responsible for maintaining and optimizing machinery to ensure the continuous production of our softwood pulp.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintenance and Equipment Care
- Equipment Maintenance: Installing, inspecting, adjusting, and repairing specialized equipment.
- Machinery Care: Inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining various machinery types.
- Installation and Precision Alignment: Handling new equipment installations and ensuring precise alignment.
- Diagnostic and Problem-Solving Skills: Ongoing inspection, examination, and issue diagnosis.
- Quality Assurance: Fitting bearings, aligning gears and shafts, and ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
- Safety and Compliance: Strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, responding to production needs promptly.
- Documentation Compliance & Housekeeping: Maintaining accurate records and a clean work environment.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications And Experience
- Red Seal Certification: A valid Red Seal Millwright certification showcases your trade mastery.
- Experience: hands-on industrial maintenance experience, demonstrating your practical expertise.
- Strong knowledge of pulp mill machinery and systems, reflecting your technical acumen.
- A commitment to upholding workplace safety standards and practices, ensuring a secure work environment.
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills, enabling you to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues efficiently.
- The ability to collaborate effectively within a team, contributing to a cohesive and productive work environment.

- Base Salary: $50.66 hourly per the Labour Agreement
