Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This is a hands-on cooking position that goes beyond basic prep. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of kitchen operations and a genuine interest in food and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring vegetables and proteins.
• Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
• Organize and store food items properly to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Help with meal preparation for service, ensuring all dishes are ready on time.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment regularly.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during busy service periods.

What we look for:

• Previous kitchen experience is an asset
• A solid understanding of general kitchen work and prep techniques
• Ability to follow direction and work independently when needed
• Punctual, organized, and able to manage time efficiently
• Available for consistent day time shift (approx. 32hrs /week)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
