About the role

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Access Control Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of access control systems. This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking, low voltage systems, and mechanical and electrical knowledge. The Access Control Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the security and efficiency of our facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure access control systems including card readers, biometric scanners, and electronic locks.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of existing access control systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to design and implement security solutions based on blueprints and site assessments.
  • Utilize hand tools and low voltage equipment to perform installations and repairs.
  • Monitor CCTV systems to ensure proper functionality and security coverage.
  • Respond to alarms and incidents, providing timely reports on any security breaches or system failures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of installations, repairs, and system configurations.
  • Telecommunicate with clients to provide support and guidance on access control issues.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in building, installing, or maintaining access control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of CCTV systems, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and computer networking principles.
  • Familiarity with low voltage wiring techniques and electrical components.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings effectively.
  • Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using various hand tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for effective telecommunication with clients and team members.
  • A proactive approach to learning new technologies related to access control systems.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 per week

Additional pay:
