Job Summary
The BDM is responsible for contributing to their business unit’s success by contributing to the achievement of company goals, and objectives. The BDM contributes to the different aspects of sales activity and the company’s operation in respective areas of NECA business. This position reports to the General Manager, A & D.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring net revenue is generated from new business pipeline (Target figure: 15 % net revenue ratio) .
- Ensuring target volume is achieved annually.
- Planning, and coordinating different aspects of the sales activity for NECA business in Eastern regions (Ontario and Quebec) Canada.
- Initiating sales activities to new/existing customers for trucking and brokerage business.
- Selling Air cargo / Ocean cargo forwarding business and contract logistics.
- Strategically plan and organize sales activity into target industries and develop pipeline for NECA business growth.
- Finding and developing the opportunity with new customers.
- Sales and marketing for the establishment of new business and the expansion of new business with new/existing customers.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with NECA customers, by providing excellent customer service.
- Establishing and fostering teamwork with the NECA Branches for new business.
- Negotiating with Internal Nippon Express Global, and with outside sub-contractors.
- Ensuring accuracy in the compilation and presentation of reports.
- Updating sales and activity information precisely into CRM platform system.
- Various task related to Sales and business development assigned by NECA management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in sales organization for Freight Forwarding, brokerage business preferred.
- Advanced selling skills, with good networking ability.
- Good interpersonal and customer management skills.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Bilingual in English and French is preferred but not mandatory.
- Have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work alone while remaining part of a team.
- Ability to work outside regular office hours.
- Domestic and international travel may be required.
- Ability to visit customers by oneself using personal car including valid driver’s license.
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, and/or combination of education and experience
