We’re looking for an Accident Benefits Adjuster to join our growing team!
Please note an increased in office presence will be required for the first 6 months of employment to ensure proper development and growth in this role
What you'll do here:
- Analyze and interpret insurance policy wording to determine coverage and evaluate entitlements that are fair and equitable
- Communicate in a timely and respectful manner with customers, claimants, lawyers and insurers to settle claims and report findings and settlements
- Conduct investigations and identify additional information such as medical examinations, customer medical or employment history as required to clarify and/or justify a claim
- Ensure all cases are clearly documented and meet our legislative requirements
- Identify process improvement needs and recommend changes to policies or procedures to improve quality service and competitiveness
What you bring to the table:
- 1+ years of claims adjusting experience required (Auto, Property, Accident Benefits, Total Loss, Casualty, Specialty)
- Accident Benefits claims handling is preferred
- Alignment with IFC company organizational values
- Medical knowledge is an asset
- Working toward the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset
- Have a strong ability to multitask and thrive in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrate strong negotiation and decision-making skills
- A critical thinker when it comes to approaching complex problems in time-sensitive situations and with minimal supervision
- A skilled communicator, allowing you to foster favorable business relationships
- Have a keen ability to listen to others with the goal of gathering information, allowing you to efficiently evaluate a situation
- Go above and beyond for our customers and your colleagues because you truly want to make a difference
- Have strong desk management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
