Job Title: Manager, Facilities & Events
Location: Athlete Institute – Mono, ON
Reports To: Director, Facilities
Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Start & Schedule: August 1, 2025 - 3 Weekday Evenings – Around 2-11pm & 2 Weekend Day – Around 8am – 4pm
Compensation Range: $45k-55k per year
POSITION SUMMARY: MANAGER, FACILITIES & EVENTS
The Manager, Facility & Events will work under the guidance of the Director of Facilities and in close collaboration with the President and Director of Athletics to support the overall operations and event needs of Athlete Institute. A key focus of this role will be the day-to-day management of the Fieldhouse building, ensuring smooth operations and high standards of customer service & maintenance.
The position also includes overseeing facility coordinators and volunteers, managing facility rentals, and supporting regular AI programming and events and primarily during evenings and weekends.
This is a public-facing role that requires a professional presence, a positive attitude, and strong customer service skills when working with staff, guests, and the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Support
- Serve as Manager on Duty during peak operational periods, including evening programming on weekdays and daytime events on weekends.
- Supervise Facility Coordinators, custodial teams, and event volunteers, including responsibilities for hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Support organizational sales goals by generating rental leads, conducting facility tours for prospective clients, and preparing rental contracts.
Facility Operations & Maintenance
- Collaborate with the Director of Facilities to implement and maintain an annual operational strategy focused on safety, efficiency, innovation, and delivering a high-performance user experience across all Athlete Institute venues (basketball courts, soccer turf, accommodations, and performance areas).
- Conduct monthly safety inspections of all First Aid stations; prepare reports for management, replenish supplies, and safely discard any expired items.
- Monitor and restock vending machines as needed; place supply orders accordingly.
Health & Safety Oversight
- Champion emergency preparedness, incident response planning, and adherence to public health and occupational safety standards.
- Oversee and train Facility Coordinator staff.
- Prepare the incident report for any near miss or accidents.
Event & Rental Coordination
- Serve as the lead operations manager for all internal and external events including leagues, clinics, camps, tournaments, showcases, league games and third-party rentals across all facilities.
- Coordinate closely with internal departments (basketball, soccer, performance, and marketing) to ensure seamless execution of programs and events.
- Facility rental sales and customer service - Identify and pursue new rental opportunities to support growth and facility utilization.
- Act as the key lead for the Cwench All Canadian Games (e.g., Basketball, Volleyball), ensuring smooth planning and execution.
- Record and report all customer complaints, working with management to identify and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Coordinator, Programs to organize and prepare clinic and league launches
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the key liaison for facility renters, long-term tenants, and partners, ensuring exceptional service, prompt maintenance responses, and proactive communication.
- Represent the Athlete Institute brand with professionalism in all interactions with guests, clients, and contractors.
Other Duties As Assigned
- As a member of a small and impactful team, we all pull together for additional duties as assigned that come up from time to time.
