Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and litigate a caseload involving Criminal , Family , Business , and Inadmissibility matters.
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, affidavits, legal opinions, and court submissions.
- Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, and tribunals.
- Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice based on case law and legislation.
- Work closely with clients, maintaining professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
- Collaborate with senior counsel and legal teams on complex files and high-conflict cases.
- Stay current with evolving legal standards and contribute to the firm's legal knowledge base.
Qualifications:
- LL.B., J.D., or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Member in good standing with a Canadian Provincial Law Society.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in litigation , ideally in Criminal, Family, Business Law, or Immigration Inadmissibility.
- Strong research, writing, and advocacy skills.
- Proven courtroom experience and ability to handle files independently.
- Multilingual ability (Sinhala or Tamil) is considered an asset.
- Commitment to ethical, compassionate, and client-centered legal practice.
