About the role

Food Production

Pack Team Member

Reports To: Production Manager

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 4pm-12am

Compensation: $19.00/hour, plus an additional $1.50/per hour for hours worked between 9:00pm-12:00am

The Position

The Pack Team Member plays a crucial role in ensuring that meals are accurately packed, organized, and prepared for distribution. In this fast-paced environment, you will follow detailed pack sheets, maintain quality standards, and support the production team in food preparation and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

Packing & Production Support

  • Accurately pack food items according to pack sheets.
  • Stage and pre-kit items to streamline the packing process.
  • Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) guidelines when staging, pre-kitting, or packing products.
  • Organize, pack, and palletize frozen recipe items efficiently.
  • Conduct weekly inventory of all frozen items to ensure proper stock levels.
  • Ensure all packed items meet quality and food safety standards, reporting any concerns to the Kitchen Manager or Production Manager.
  • Assist with daily production tasks related to next-day preparation.
  • Help set up workstations by organizing, weighing, and counting food items.
  • Keep fridges and freezers clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Other duties as assigned

Clean & Safe Work Environment

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Properly sort and dispose of kitchen waste in an organized manner.
  • Assist with waste removal as needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols to create a safe working environment.

Required Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Additional Skills

  • Positive attitude – motivated to get things done right.
  • Commitment to food safety – follows all hygiene and handling guidelines.
  • Strong work ethic – hardworking, dependable, and punctual.
  • Team player – collaborates effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina – able to stand for an entire 8-hour shift and lift at least 25 kg repeatedly.
  • Ability to work in cold environments – comfortable working in temperatures ranging from -10°C to 4°C.
  • Attention to cleanliness – maintains a sanitary and organized workspace.
  • Basic English proficiency – able to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Basic math skills – capable of performing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for portioning and inventory management.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience in a busy kitchen or production facility.
  • Experience operating forklifts and pump trucks.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Valid Food Handler’s Certificate.
