As a Member Solutions Agent, you will seek to provide exceptional service to both existing and potential members through digital channels to build and strengthen member relations while promoting SCU products, services, and consumer lending. In this role, you will use a needs-based selling approach to help our members discover products and solutions that meet their unique needs.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Contact members by phone in order to promote SCU products and services. Respond to inquiries and resolve member questions and concerns wherever possible, referring more complex issues to the appropriate person or department.
- Monitor member accounts through system generated reports, identify sales and service opportunities and follow up with members as required.
- Review credit bureau and assess credit worthiness when evaluating online membership opening, credit card applications, and consumer lending, referring to Management when necessary.
- Process loan applications for members accurately and efficiently and when outside of discretionary limits, provide recommendations and/or obtain authorization from relevant lending authorities.
- Understand the member’s financial situation to determine the products and/or services which best meet their needs (current and future), referring to a Consumer Lending Officer and/or Management when necessary.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of and adhere to credit union policies and procedures in the areas of lending, risk management, security and fraud prevention.
- Build and strengthen member relationships by identifying member needs, cross selling and promoting the appropriate products and services, referring when necessary.
- Determine and communicate pricing and terms of credit union products such that value is realized by both the member and SCU.
- Work collaboratively with the team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Diploma plus two years of formal business-related education or equivalent, plus 1 to 3 years of related lending experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
- Knowledge of lending policies and regulatory environments
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical, judgment, and decision-making skills
- Working knowledge of financial accounting principles
- Demonstrated prioritization, organization, time management, planning, and follow-up skills
