Scope
The City of Surrey is looking for an enthusiastic, and creative Ballet Instructor at Clayton Community Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging performing art professional. You will be able to support and create a vibrant and welcoming environment for visitors to learn and engage with performing arts at Clayton Community Centre.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute age-appropriate ballet activities that align with the participants' skill levels and developmental stages.
Facilitate an engaging and educational dance experience, emphasizing both technique and artistic expression, while maintaining a secure and inclusive atmosphere.
Set up and clean up of each class.
Provide constructive feedback to students, fostering a positive learning environment, and building their confidence in ballet skills and artistry.
Required skills include:
Education and experience in ballet and/or dance.
Able to assess age appropriateness of lessons and materials and modify lessons as needed based on student’s abilities.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and relational skills with participants and staff.
Effective problem-solving skills.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year experience as a Ballet Instructor.
Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C with AED certification.
Completion of High 5 – Principles of Healthy Child Development
Excellent leadership, organizational and customer service skills.
Reliable, patient, enthusiastic and enjoy working with people and children of all ages.

Hourly Rate: $25.50 (2024 Rate)
Conditions of Employment
This position requires completion of a Police Information Check.
