What’s the job:
The primary function of the Senior Vice President, Transportation Carrier Equipment Finance is to lead and grow a high-performing non-bank-owned Transportation Carrier Equipment Finance team, with a specialized focus on the transportation carrier sector. This executive role is pivotal in driving strategic growth, managing key partner relationships, and ensuring financial performance and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of equipment finance professionals, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and driving consistent performance across all areas.
Business Development:
- Originate and grow new business opportunities with a focus on transportation carriers, identifying financing needs and providing customized equipment finance solutions.
Relationship Management:
- Build and expand long-term partnerships with key transportation carriers to enhance business volume and customer satisfaction.
Financial Performance:
- Develop and execute sales and portfolio strategies to meet or exceed financial targets, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
Operational Oversight:
- Oversee inventory management and the operational lifecycle of financed assets to meet the specific requirements of carrier partners, ensuring alignment with compliance, efficiency, and profitability standards.
Risk and Compliance:
- Ensure that all transactions comply with internal risk parameters, industry regulations, and audit requirements.
What you’ll be doing:
Lead, manage, and mentor a team to achieve production goals
- Lead and develop the Transportation Carrier Equipment Finance team, driving high performance and continuous growth
- Establish clear goals, evaluate performance, and ensure accountability for team outcomes
- Enhance the sales team's capabilities through continuous training and coaching
- Distribute resources effectively and manage FTE allocation in line with approved budgets
Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow Transportation Carrier relationships across a national platform
- Develop and implement annual business plans and operating budgets
- Ensure alignment of resources with organizational priorities and goals
- Continually assess industry trends and adjust strategies accordingly
Establish and nurture direct relationships with Transportation Carrier to position the company as their preferred financing partner
- Lead sales activities and manage inventory requirements in line with growth targets
- Develop an asset management strategy that supports market growth
- Maintain a client database through TFG’s relationship software for managing opportunities
- Strategically source new and used trucks that meet TFG’s lending criteria and carrier specifications
- Facilitate sales and lease transactions with carriers, lessees, and owner-operators
- Maintain strong relationships with carrier partners and owner-operators, addressing their needs
- Oversee the disposal of repossessed or non-compliant trucks in alignment with standards
- Manage truck inventory, including tracking, showcasing, and ensuring mechanical readiness
- Manage the reconditioning process for used and returned trucks, ensuring cost-effective solutions
- Oversee truck showcasing efforts at various online and physical locations
- Respond to and resolve escalated issues promptly and professionally
Collaborate with internal teams to enhance operational efficiencies in processing approvals and funding transactions
- Enhance operational efficiency by optimizing systems, processes, and compliance
- Contribute to governance document creation, including creating, maintaining and updating all sales policies and procedures
- Monitor performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve outcomes
- Communicate effectively with management, preparing detailed reports and updates
What you bring:

- Proven leadership experience in equipment finance, preferably with a focus on the transportation or trucking industry
- Demonstrated success in business development and P & L management
- Strong network within the transportation or logistics sector
- Deep understanding of structuring financial solutions for capital equipment
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field; MBA preferred
