Position Summary:

The Cold Prep Cook is responsible for preparing cold food items according to established recipes and procedures. This includes salads, sandwiches, fruit and vegetable platters, and dressings. The role ensures food safety, proper portioning, and consistent quality while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Job Structure

This is a part-time hourly wage position. Work schedule includes weekends and holidays as required. Paid vacation accrual at 4%.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare cold food items such as salads, sandwiches, wraps, fruit, and vegetables.
• Follow recipes and portion control guidelines accurately.
• Wash, peel, slice, and chop vegetables and fruits as required.
• Properly label, date, and store all prepared items.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of prep area, tools, and equipment.
• Assist with inventory control by reporting shortages or spoiled items.
• Adhere to food safety standards and health regulations.
• Support other kitchen staff as needed during peak times.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a kitchen environment.
• Strong knife skills.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and handling practices.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting.
• Previous experience in food industry or specialty grocery store preferred.
• Effective communication skills and teamwork abilities.
