About the role

Position Overview

The Ticketing Sales Specialist will play a key role in Alberta Ballet’s audience development strategy, using direct outreach, relationship-building, and exceptional customer service to grow subscription and single ticket sales.

You’ll have the flexibility to customize subscriptions- including pricing, seating, and performance dates- to suit individual patrons and secure long-term loyalty.

While our busiest sales window is April through September, this is a year-round position, with on-site presence required during performances in both Calgary and Edmonton. You’ll support the sales experience before, during, and after curtain- becoming a trusted and visible part of the patron journey.

Key Responsibilities

Subscription Sales & Patron Engagement

  • Conduct outbound calls and emails to single-ticket buyers and lapsed subscribers

  • Build a personal pipeline of prospects and manage follow-up communication

  • Customize subscription packages to suit individual needs and preferences

  • Guide patrons through purchase decisions with warmth and expertise

  • Foster strong, long-term relationships to encourage retention and upgrades

  • Analyze subscriber trends and share insights for continuous improvement

  • Handle basic customer concerns and escalate when necessary

  • Support promotional campaigns and special ticketing offers

  • Help convert single ticket buyers into multi-show or full-season subscribers

  • Identify high-potential segments for focused sales activity

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work with the marketing team to align messaging and promotions

  • Track all sales activity and conversations in Alberta Ballet’s CRM system

  • Report on trends, conversion rates, and patron feedback

  • Share audience insights to help shape future offers, content, and strategy

  • Contribute to audience-building initiatives

On-Site Patron Engagement

  • Attend all subscriber performances to support on-site engagement and upselling

  • Represent Alberta Ballet with professionalism and warmth in all in-person interactions

  • Serve as a key bridge between the sales, marketing, and box office teams

Performance Will Be Measured By:

  • Subscription conversion from single ticket buyers

  • Retention and upgrade rates among existing subscribers

  • Total ticket revenue influenced

  • CRM tracking quality and customer satisfaction

  • Engagement and presence at live events

Qualifications & Skills

  • 1+ years of experience in sales, customer service, or account management
  • Proven ability to conduct outbound sales calls and manage a personal sales funnel
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Familiarity with CRM systems
  • Ability to analyze data and spot opportunities
  • Passion for the performing arts and audience engagement
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during show periods
