Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Technical Procurement Manager to lead and manage the procurement of complex technical materials, components, and services. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure cost-effective and timely sourcing that meets all technical specifications and project requirements. This role demands a high level of technical understanding, supplier management skills, and a proactive approach to risk mitigation and supply chain optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor and manage the purchasing and warehouse team, ensuring optimal performance, professional development and adherence to procurement best practices.
• Assign and oversee the work of the purchasing and warehouse team, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives and timelines.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies for technical and engineered components, ensuring alignment with project timelines and company objectives.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Project Management teams to interpret technical specifications and translate them into sourcing requirements.
• Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on technical capability, quality, delivery performance, and cost.
• Lead RFQs (Request for quote), RFPs (Request for proposal), contract negotiations, and supplier performance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor market trends, identify potential supply risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage inventory levels to align with production demand and reduce excess stock or obsolescence.
• Support cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, alternate sourcing, and long-term supplier partnerships.
• Utilize ERP and procurement systems to track purchasing activity, approvals, and budget adherence.
• Prepare procurement reports and dashboards for senior management.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in technical or industrial procurement, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, or construction industries.
• Proven experience in leading and developing procurement or cross-functional teams, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Solid understanding of mechanical and/or electrical components and their specifications.
• Strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract drafting skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
