Kitchen and Bath Designer - Hanover

Reports To: Director of Store Operations
The Kitchen Designer is responsible for the management and design of multiple projects from start through completion. Working in the showroom and with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This role combines elements of interior design, project management, and customer service to create functional and aesthetically pleasing kitchen environments.
- Client Consultation:
- Meet with clients to discuss their needs, preferences, and budget.
- Conduct site visits to assess the space and take accurate measurements.
- Develop and present design concepts and mood boards.
- Design Development:
- Create detailed kitchen layouts using 20/20 software and other design tools.
- Select appropriate materials, finishes, appliances, and fixtures.
- Ensure designs comply with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Project Management:
- Coordinate with contractors, electricians, plumbers, and other tradespeople.
- Oversee the installation process to ensure adherence to the design plan.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, addressing any issues that arise.
- Sales and Marketing:
- Prepare and present design proposals and cost estimates to clients.
- Assist in marketing efforts, including participating in trade shows and showroom presentations.
- Maintain a portfolio of completed projects to display design capabilities.
- Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the design and installation process.
- Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Conduct follow-up meetings to ensure client satisfaction and gather feedback.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education:
- Interior Design or related field preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in design software such as 20/20, SketchUp
- Strong understanding of construction processes and materials.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to stay updated on the latest design trends and technologies.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to client sites as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Typically works in an office setting or design studio, with regular visits to client sites and showrooms.
- May require evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines or accommodate client schedules.
- Must have a valid driver’s license to visit client sites
- Able to work days, evenings, and weekends
- Able to work overtime as required
